Last year, I took a trip to Rome for a couple of days to experience the glorious ruins & tourist attractions. Overall, it was incredible to see the sites and view them with my own eyes but essentially the city was just too "touristy". It's such a shame to say as it is a beautiful city. If I was to go again I would stay for longer and visit during an off-peak season.
I'm a big fan of Gardens and Stately Homes, so we headed to Trentham Gardens in Stoke-on-Trent to explore. Throughout the Gardens were these wire-framed fairies which had been made as an exhibition piece. There were around 9 in total, each in a unique location; in the lake, on fences, on tree trunks and even hanging from the trees themselves.
Jodrell Bank is home to the Lovell Telescope, one of the largest telescopes in the UK, if not the world. It is a beautiful man-made creation that really has to be seen in person to be admired in all it's glory.
There are plenty of beautiful sights in the Cheshire countryside, but one afternoon a friend and I took a little trip to Mow Cop Castle. It's essentially a small castle ruin but overlooks some of the most beautiful points of the Cheshire plains.
I was commissioned to produce the album design artwork for Panacea Dream, a rock band based in Birmingham. I went to central Manchester to shoot some dark & grungey shots down an Alleyway. I photographed different parts of the area; broken windows, wall textures and barbed wire. I also used a model to depict the isolating feeling that the band wanted to showcase throughout the art and music.
With College, I took a trip to Barcelona. This was my first time abroad and what a great city to go to! We took a tour bus around the city and visited Park Güell, Sagrada Familia and even had time to stroll down the beach. My favourite part of the trip was roaming around the streets of Barcelona and taking shots of the people and buildings.
When I purchased my first DSLR, the Nikon D40, I went out shooting straight away. I headed to my closest city, Manchester to do some day-time and night-time shooting. I was especially pleased with my night-time images as this had been my first experience with long exposures and experimenting with slow shutter speeds.
In this folder are images of all genres. Photos which aren't as a series; just one off shots.
