During Sunday's #SBHOUR (Shooting Beauty's hour, where creatives come together to showcase their work and socialise) I posted up a proposition for us Retouchers & Photographers to come together for a retouching war or "edit-off". The idea of a few of us editing the same RAW image. I found an image from Jared Polan's Fro Know's Photo forum for us to use.
This was such a fun task to do. I love practising my Photoshop skills and to see what others would come up with. This would allow us to bounce our ideas around, promote our skills and take note of what others were showcasing.
To the left is the RAW image, as you can see, quite an interesting portrait shot that would help us with our skin retouching skills and general editing.
I wanted to change the image completely, instead of keeping a more innocent look about the picture, I wanted to give a more mysterious and cold tone. Originally I wanted to turn the girl into a more Gothic style figure, but instead felt what I had edited was a little more natural.
What do you think to my final image to the right? It didn't take very long and was definitely fun to create.
I've added below all of the retouched pieces that the participants worked on, we had a great turn out and some great finished edits.
