I've used KelbyOne for well over a year now and I thought this would be the perfect time to discuss my thoughts on the service and my experience overall.
For those who are unaware, KelbyOne is training for creatives, whether you're a beginner or a professional. It offers hours upon hours of video classes on Photography, Photoshop, Lightroom, Design and Business; from the pure basics, advanced tutorials and even the essential tools to start up your own creative business. As of this blog being posted there are currently over 450 courses - each course lasting around 2 hours. This is an insane amount of content, with courses being posted daily, it's a fantastic investment for any creative.
As a KelbyOne member, you are also given discounts to companys such as Apple, Squarespace, Peachpit, SmugMug, 500px to name a few plus users get a 10-issue subscription to Photoshop User Magazine. All of this and more for $249 a year (a monthly subscription is also available). What a fantastic deal - and the information given through all the courses will be so valuable to you, more so than any University degree. This is real-world photographers giving you the essential guides to their experiences in the field. Something no degree could teach you. In my honest opinion.
KelbyOne has a huge array of content from all genres of photography including Portraiture, Landscape, Sports, Wildlife, Travel, Food, Commercial and so many more, as well as basics in Photography, Lighting, Equipment and of course all the training you'll need for Photoshop & Lightroom. What's more, you'll get this training from leading professionals including Scott Kelby, Joe McNally, Matt Kloskowski, Corey Barker, Rick Sammon, Moose Peterson, Calvin Hollywood, Joel Grimes, Glyn Dewis and hundreds more.
As of now they have a KelbyOne App available on the App Store and the Google Play store, this is for users who wish to watch the classes on the go. At present the Android app is a little temperamental, with the app shutting off randomly & no ability to resume any videos you part-watch, however, I believe they will be tweaking the app in the future to fix these bugs.
If you want fantastic content at a very low cost, look no further than KelbyOne, it's the go-to place for all of your Photography (and more) training needs. Fully recommended by me and I'm now in my second year subscription - I couldn't live without these classes.
Go ahead and take a look at their website & YouTube channel for an introduction to their service, I recommend you at least pay for a month's service and I can guarantee you will learn so much from watching just one course alone!
Disclaimer: I have not been sponsored by Kelby Media Group for this post, not do I know anyone who is, I just wish to give my opinion on an incredible service.
